NYC (8 more days)
From Dec. 27 til Jan. 5, I’ll be exploring NYC on my own. This is pretty major for me, my first solo trip, especially after years of a sheltered life. Some of my goals are to find myself, meet people and learn.
I’ll have lots of time to myself. Time I can spend thinking about who I am, what I need to prioritize, where I see myself in the coming months. I also want to meet people....

Too early for resolutions?
Alright, I did it. I bought a plane ticket to New York City, I’m staying there alone for nine days and have no idea where I’ll be sleeping. From Dec. 27 til Jan. 5, I’ll be exploring, causing trouble and hopefully meeting a ton of cool people. This is totally out of my character but I kind of like it. Is that wrong?
I owe this spontaneous trip to myself. I’ve had several...

Presidential Endorsement from The Economist
Yet far from being the voice of fiscal prudence, Mr Romney wants to start with huge tax cuts (which will disproportionately favour the wealthy), while dramatically increasing defence spending. Together those measures would add $7 trillion to the ten-year deficit. He would balance the books through eliminating loopholes (a good idea, but he will not specify which ones) and through savage cuts to...

Ran my first long-distance race
On Saturday, I ran a race completely on a whim. And it was over the Crescent City Connection.
The Crescent Connection Bridge Run, a four-mile race, began in the Westbank and ended at the Port of New Orleans. I arrived at the port, took a shuttle to the Westbank and signed up 30 minutes before the race started.
And then it rained. It rained and showed no signs of stopping. I was drenched, and so...

Times-Picayune of New Orleans may print two or... →
This is a sad moment for New Orleans. It’s only major daily newspaper will more than likely face severe budget cuts resulting in publication two or three times per week and, like, half of it’s staff will be jobless. These are the same people who decided to stay and face Hurricane Katrina. The ones who show such dedication in this public service they offer. The saddest part of all this...

Moving these boxes should serve as my cross training today for this half-marathon I’ll be running in October. If I had balls, I’d be sweating them off right now.

Has anyone else noticed this phenomenon?
White men yell expletives, while black men yell complements to strangers. Regardless of the creepy factor, I prefer to be called a pretty lady than being told ‘fuck you’ for no apparent reason when I’m riding my bike down St. Charles.

Planned Parenthood is on Tumblr, y'all
plannedparenthood:
Planned Parenthood is excited to be launching our new Tumblr that’s all about sexual and reproductive health – bodies, birth control, relationship issues, “is it normal for this to do this?” type things. In the coming weeks and months we’ll be sharing what we know, answering questions, and just… tumblring.
We hope you like it! And we hope it helps.

Today is turning out to be pretty good so far. I’ve been able to
have an amazing run/workout this morning
finish my advanced calculus assignment, in LaTeX at that
run off of two hours of sleep without exhaustion
clean the bathroom
confirm a date tonight :)
among other things. I don’t usually talk about guys, but I have a good feeling about this one. I don’t remember ever...
